Day 3 - Wake Up

 We have seen the hope
Of Your healing
Rising from our souls
Is the feeling
We are drawing close
Your light is shining through

The clock read sometime after midnight, but I was still up. It had been a full day brimming over with grace. Tender mercies had been sprinkled along the path despite the thistles that threatened to tear the cloth of my faith. My eyes burned with having seen so much life in a day. Time to sleep.

Yet as I wrapped myself with the invitation of a warm bed, my body began to surrender to the heaviness of slumber, when I heard a cry from her bedroom. Little one had been stirred by a bad dream and needed mommy's comfort. I pulled the heavy blankets up over my head as if to hide from the boogy man and pretend like it would go away. I didn't want to get up. I wanted sleep. But she cried and she called, so I went.

Weak and weary woman, what is stirring in your life that has you troubled and afraid? The lyrics to this song keep playing through my mind. It beckons us to wake up to the things of God. It reminds me that though I am weary, there is a greater call awakening our hearts. Do you hear it?

When you're so tired and it feels like it would be easier to pull the blanket over your head rather than face it all, pull back the veil and face it with Jesus. His light will illuminate your path one step at a time. Find your shelter in Him and He will give you rest.

All Sons & Daughters - Wake Up

 So wake up, wake up,
Wake up all you sleepers
Stand up, stand up
Stand up all you dreamers
Hands up, hands up
Hands up all believers
Take up your cross, carry it on
