Day 6 - Refuge

My heart is learning that true rest begins with meditating on God's word. It means prayer and continually turning over my worries unto the Lord's caring and capable hands. Rest requires trust.

In a week when it feels like we've experienced an on slot of trials, like arrows that fly by night, we can rest secure by trusting in God's promises. Psalm 91 puts it like this...


Rest
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
    will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

Promises
He will cover you with his feathers.
    He will shelter you with his wings.
    His faithful promises are your armor and protection.
{91:4 NLT}

Protection
For He will command His angels in regard to you,
To protect and defend and guard you in all your ways [of obedience and service].
{91:11 AMP}

Trust
“Because he set his love on Me, therefore I will save him;
I will set him [securely] on high, because he knows My name [he confidently trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never abandon him, no, never].

Pray
When they call on me, I will answer;
    I will be with them in trouble.
    I will rescue and honor them.
